About Me

My photo
Hi! I'm Elder Lundy and I represent The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I'm excited to be serving my mission in the Philippines! For further reading, see Ether 12:6, 27 "6. And now, I, Moroni, would speak somewhat concerning these things; I would show unto the world that faith is things which are hoped for and not seen; wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith. 27. And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them."

I'm back in Paddad!

Hi!

(Sorry the letter was a little longer, but some of it was just for Mom : ) so I didn't share it. I asked if they were soggy there, because Typhoon Mawar hit the Philippines.)

We haven't had any sort of monsoon/baggio type weather here. Its been nice and flippin hot this past week.

(I asked what Fast Sunday was like there.)

Fast Sunday in the Philippines- it’s pretty much the same. Now that I understand Tagalog for the most part, it’s just normal. Of course people use a ton of other dialects, but that’s just normal too. I’m gunna go crazy when I go home and all people speak is English. It’s so boring now. Though I’m kinda bored with Tagalog as well. That’s why I’m starting in on Ilocano now. But back to sacrament. I actually went to 2 in Angadanan this past Sunday. One was normal. The other we didn't have testimonies. It had about 15-20 people, most of which were investigators. I ended up giving a talk about the gospel of Jesus Christ, and our fellowshipper that came with us gave a talk on how to bear a testimony. It was held in a member's home there, and they don't have a branch pres. they only have a group leader. We talked on a kind of broken karaoke machine. It was interesting....

 Message:

 Translation of Message:

Where is the authority of God on the earth? I know and I am going to share it with you. God called prophets here on earth in the past, like Adam, Noah, Moses and Abraham. Does God change? No. The scriptures say He does not change. He is the same "yesterday, today, and forever." God gave his authority to the prophets to teach and baptize people. If what the Bible says is true, He still gives his authority to prophets today. My message now to you all is that we have a living prophet, called of God, here on earth today. God has given his authority to him. He guides the prophet through revelation. I know this is true. The true church of God has 3 parts to its foundation. The 3 parts are: a living prophet and apostles, they have authority given to them of God, and they receive revelation from God for the whole world. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has this foundation. This is my testimony and I know it is true. I leave this with you in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, amen.

My mother also shared a quote with me that I feel I should include here.

“Faith can move mountains, but don't be surprised if God hands you a shovel. ~Author Unknown”

I love you! :* I hope you have a good week! :)

-Elder Christopher
